"Can we once and for all put those little yellow ribbons away? How will this nation heal if we insist on wearing party colors? What does it really mean to wear the yellow color and yellow ribbon today? It symbolized hope a few decades ago. But the yellow ribbon is neither an official symbol nor the seal of our country. If the President of the Republic of the Philippines had to necessarily wear a ribbon on his barong for his CNN interview with Christiane Amanpour, he should have respectfully and appropriately worn a BLACK RIBBON, or just stick to the traditional patriotic pin, as protocol at the very least. Are we not grieving for the thousands of countrymen who have so recently perished? In fact, the entire nation should already be in a STATE OF MOURNING even if the total death toll of Yolanda victims are but estimates, and the death toll of the recent earthquake in Central Visayas as well as the death toll of the recent War in Zamboanga have not yet been confirmed."
LET'S UNTIE THE YELLOW RIBBON!
